Information for Volunteers and Ceremony 2021
October 18 Update

Below represents our best prediction of likely security conditions, volunteering opportunities and leadership needs. This is based on recent meetings with Captain Kinsela, Base Commander NAS and Craig LaChance, Director, Barrancas National Cemetery to discuss Wreaths Across America plans on 12/18/2021.

Barring changes due to COVID19 or other security directives, the base will be open to adults attending Wreaths Across America with government issued photo ID on December 18. DoD ID is not required. We hope to begin laying wreaths at 9AM and are planning a Ceremony at 11AM. The Ceremony may be modified based on social distancing guidelines from the VA. As we get new information, we will update this page.

Volunteers are needed to lay wreaths, remove wreath cartons, direct other volunteers, escort and assist disabled participants and in January, remove wreaths. If you're interested in volunteering with us, please fill out and submit the form Volunteer for Wreath Placement (form available in November) from the menu above. Youth groups are especially welcome.

We need some people to be trained as Section or Area heads so they can direct other volunteers. Training will be onsite at the Cemetery on dates to be determined. If you do not have a DoD ID, you will need to get a 6-month security pass at the Main Gate security office before the training days. This involves some paperwork and a background check.

Please understand that any or all of this may change before December 18. To be sure you are getting the most current information hit (Ctrl F5). This forces your browser to reload the current version of the webpage.
